Mary Smar was called home on September 22, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Nick Baran, three brothers, Nick Jr., John and Mike. Also preceded in death by her husband Joe and son Michael.
Mary enjoyed her job at Illinois Bell, Indiana Bell, and later retired from Inland Steel as a PBX operator.
Mary is survived by her three loving daughters, Donna (Steve) Faulkner, Diane (Gary) Spain, and Jeanne (David) Lund. She was further blessed with her grandchildren, Zander, Nikko, Julie, Jessica, Katie, Jeff, Jack and Lauren. She immensely enjoyed the company and entertainment of her great grandchildren, Jillian, Kendall, Carter, Allie, Reagan and Trace.
For those who were fortunate enough to know her, knew she had a great sense of humor, was the life of the party and loved being around others. She loved to cook, play bingo and dominos and loved her Facebook family who knew her as “Lo Mimi”.
Per Mary’s request a private family service will be held to celebrate her life.
