Don truly was one of a kind, he had a keen sense of humor, great integrity, daring courage, a winning spirit, along with compassion, kindness, and grace. He worked for United States Steel Gary Works for 31 years, as a Mill Scarfer, one of the toughest jobs in the mill. Don was an avid Chicago Bears and I.U. Fan. During his retirement he lived in Costa Rica, one of the happiest countries in the world. He liked the climate, the landmarks, the food and their people. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He always said, “It starts with family, and it ends with family.” He believed that family is the most important part of your life. Treasure the tears, treasure the laughter, but most importantly treasure the memories. Don had many awesome sayings, one of his favorites was “He/She are good people.”  He was certainly that, but even more so, He was truly, ” The Best of the Best”.
A private Family Memorial Service in Donald’s honor, will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
