Frederique Klooster passed away on January 20th, 2020 after an adventurous life. He was born in the Netherlands on January 9,1935 and grew up during WWII. In 1951 his parents Berend Klooster and Grietje Bouman, immigrated with their 5 children aboard the M.S. Noordam via New York, to California. Fred served proudly in the United States Army and received his U.S. citizenship in Seoul, Korea. In 1964 he returned to the Netherlands, got married and he briefly conducted a dance band leading with his trumpet. Frederique and his wife Nelly moved to Germany, where they worked in education. Fred was an active soccer referee, until their 2nd son was born. In 1974 the family settled back in California, but after 2 more sons, his restless soul moved him across the country again. He left behind 1 daughter and 3 sons, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and 1 brother. Frederique loved music, travel, telling stories and playing games, whenever he got a chance. His remains will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Michigan on Friday February 14, 2020. May he finally find peace and rest.
