Robert “Bob” Hudnall, of Griffith, IN, passed away on February 13, 2022 at the age of 63. He was born and raised in Hammond, IN, and attended Gavit High School, graduating in 1976. He was employed at Ardagh Glass in Dolton, IL as a machine repairman.
 
Beloved husband of Lorie Hudnall for 43 years; very loving father of two sons, Shane (Autumn) Hudnall of Oak Ridge, NC, and Scott Hudnall of Griffith; extremely proud “Gramps” to two grandsons, Dylan Hudnall and Tristan Hudnall; dear brother of Ed (Kris) Hudnall of Momence, IL, Bradley (Missy) Hudnall of Highland, and sister Helen Hudnall of Highland; mother-in-law, Carole Moore “Ma” of Griffith; several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
 
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Iliff and Edward Hudnall.
 
Bob took great pride in serving in the U.S. Army as Sargeant with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment in Germany. He was squad leader track commander in an armored cavalry troop performing active peacetime surveillance missions on the East-West German interzonal border. Expert Hand Grenade and Sharpshooter M16 were among his achievements, along with receiving the Good Conduct Medal.
 
Bob fully enjoyed spending time and making memories with his sons and grandsons. Bob loved sports and was the former Griffith Youth Soccer Club president and coach. 
 
He was very passionate over the course of his life about many pastimes from reading, biking, marathon running (including the Chicago Marathon), and fishing, to his newest love of scuba diving. 
 
Bob was a huge animal lover, owning and loving many pets over the years including his most recent pets: Ivy, Jasmine, and Moana.
 
His legacy of love, kindness, wisdom, and values will live on through his children, grandchildren, and many more generations to come.
 
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
