Anita M. Layton, age 72, of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away surrounded by family on Monday, November 7, 2022. Anita was born November 12, 1949 in Ingolstadt, Germany and immigrated to America with family in 1950.
Anita grew up on the North side of Chicago, Illinois where she met the love of her life William E. Layton. Anita and William were married March 13, 1971 and would go on to spend 51 wonderful years together. Anita loved cooking, baking, painting, bingo, listening to and singing her favorite songs by Elvis Presley and Bobby Vinton, but most of all she loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Bernadetta (Karczewski) Witte, her brother Richard Karczewski, and her loving husband William E. Layton. Anita is survived by her five children: Lisa Ward, Michelle Layton, Tracy (Milan) Dosen, Victoria Rasinski, and Henry Layton, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives who will miss her dearly.
