James Anthony Conley Jr “Hillbilly James”, age 42 of Griffith, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
He was born on November 4, 1980 in Hammond, Indiana to James & Nancy (Dillon) Conley. He married Malissa Swisher on July 4, 2007.
James is survived by his loving family: his parents, James & Nancy Conley, his 3 children, Aubrey, James III & Emily, his wife Malissa, his “little big sister” Julie, his 3 nieces Christy (Patrick), Elizabeth & Amanda (Mike). He was the proud “great Uncle James” to Alexander, Evelyn, Liam & Esme. He was so proud to be their Uncle. Not because they made him a great Uncle, but because he was great.
He is also survived by his brother in law William Bigham, his cousin Lisa & her husband Raymond Hopkins (Ray’s shadow) & Devin Wayne whom he was very close to. Survived by many other family members who were special to him, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins as well; just know he loved you all & you know who you are.
He was preceded in death by his Aunt Faye & his Grandma Angeline Conley within the last 3 years.
James had many friends that he considered family; Dj Streeter, Tom Banter, Matt “Porkchop” Trevino, Eddie Clayton, Justin Vincent, the late Jason Vincent and many more too numerous to list.
James loved life. He loved riding his motorcycle, loved being outside and loved his family. He loved his two dogs Ruger and Roxanne “Roxy”. He loved his friends. James also loved being a big pain in our butts, but that was ‘my brother, my big pain in my butt. My Bubba.’
We will be having a Celebration of Life at a later date & will post that information when it becomes available.
My brother didn’t want a service. He always said to have a big party & drink one for him, so that’s what we will do!
