Edward Scott Crundwell (1938-2023)
Edward (Ed) Scott Crundwell (85) from Portage, Indiana died in peace with God in Demotte, Indiana September 26, 2023 after a long illness.
He was born in Gary, Indiana to Louis and Mamie Crundwell in 1938. He leaves behind his daughter Julia (Matt), son Guy (Hope), and four grandchildren Chloe Matuga, Hugh Crundwell (Savannah), Aidan Matuga, and Nigel Crundwell. He also leaves behind his family in Christ, the Piekarski family (Eddie, Talli, Bella, and E.J.), and numerous friends and loved ones. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from US Steel.
Ed was an active man who loved to roller skate, ski, camp, and ride his bike (which he did into his 80s). He also loved to travel around the world to experience different cultures and made friends throughout the globe. He was a devout Christian and an active member of the Jubilee Worship Center in Hobart, dedicating his life, time, and energy to share the glory of God.
Edward Scott Crundwell will be remembered for his incredible generosity, empathy, and kindness. He was a man of few material possessions. He would often tell family and friends who would visit him that he gave what little he had away to others because “They need it more than I do”. He led a charitable life. We will miss him; yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
A humble man of God, he did not want a memorial or, in his words, a ‘big fuss’ made of his passing. Memorial donations honoring him may be made to Jubilee Worship Center or simply honor him by being kind and loving to others.
