Tina Marie Monette, age 61, of Hobart, formerly of Portage, passed away surrounded by her family on June 28, 2019.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Thomas Monette, children Briana Mitseff, and Alexandra Monette, and Grandchildren Isabella Mitseff, Ethan Albee, and Charlotte Mitseff.
She was preceded in death by parents, Teo and Betty Esposito, and brothers Larry, David, and Bill Morrow.
Tina attended Hobart Beauty School, then worked for Portage township schools as a very involved parent, as well as a crossing guard, then becoming a bus driver for 25 years. She very boldly and successfully began the efforts for them to become Union, via USW.
Tina will be remembered for her artistic and crafty abilities, including drawing, painting and crocheting in her spare time. She also enjoyed antiquing, gardening and small road trips. She thoroughly enjoyed being in the company of others. In fact, the old family home in Portage was the hot spot for family and friends during their annual 4th of July celebrations.
A memorial luncheon in honor of Tina will be held Monday, July 15, 2019 from 12pm-3pm at the Hobart Community Center, 111 E. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you lovingly donate to either 2×2 Rescue in Merrillville, Indiana, or to your local animal shelter, in remembrance of Tina’s genuine love for animals.
