Kristie Rae Eck-Elliott “Kris” age 55, of Hobart passed away on September 12th, 2024 peacefully in her home. She was a Christmas miracle, born on December 25th, 1968 in Gary, IN. She graduated from Hebron High School in 1987 and graduated from Ball State University with a degree in sales and marketing.
Kristie was a mom, a gigi, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a niece, a wife, and a best friend. If you asked her what she was most proud of, it would be her kids and grandkids. They were her babies, and her entire world. Although, she wasn’t a millionaire, she did everything in her power to give her grandkids Christmases and birthdays that they would remember. She was 100% authentically herself, unafraid and unapologetic to be who she was. She was loving, intelligent, beautiful, and most of all, strong. She took care of her family for years, including friends and family of others who needed a home, without judgment or hesitation. She was a safe place for those who needed it, a friend to anyone who could handle it, and the life of the party.
She is proceeded in death by her sister Dawn Karshner; brother-in-law, David Karshner; nephew, Spencer Asbell; and both maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her parents, Raymond and Delphine Eck; sisters, Nikki Eck and Erin Eck; husband Arnold “Frank” Elliott; daughter, McKenna (Mark) Spence; daughter, Madison (Trish) Semplinski; son, Alec Elliott (Brianna Djurich); grandson, Mason Spence; granddaughters, Mallory Spence, Paisley Elliott, and Iris Semplinski; her nephews Nick Asbell, Max Asbell, Adam Eck and Justin Eck; niece, Heidi Kosakowski; great niece Evelyn Kosakowski, and many other close family and friends.
Celebration of life will be on October 12th, 2024 from 1-5 at the Lake Station VFW. 2750 Central Ave. Lake Station, IN 46405.
