Shirley Dick, of Hebron, formerly of Portage, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Tina) Horn, Michele Howell, and Tom (Tracy) Charles (Dick), Grandchildren; Kylie, Kaela, Kaiden, Taylor, Nicholas, Macy and Carson, Sisters; Patti Phipps and Sherry (Robert) Ray, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bertha Regula (Modis), Husband; George Dick, and Granddaughter Tori. Berta Crymes, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on August 28, 2019. She is survived by her Daughter, Veronica (Dejuan) Eskew, Grandchildren, Johanna, Jasmine, and Jocelyn, Sister, Hildegard Coloma, Ex-Husband; Lee Crymes, and Stepson, Devin Crymes. Berta was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Magdalena (Brielmaier) Betz, and 6 siblings. Berta was a member of the former St. John Cantius Church in East Chicago. Ann Uremovich passed away August 1, 2019 at Crown Point Christian Village at age 94. Ann was born in Croatia. She emigrated to the United States as an infant and spent her childhood in the Glen Park section of Gary. She met Robert Uremovich, the love of her life, at the Croatian Picnic grounds. They married in 1941 and started a family. A big family. In addition to raising that big family, Ann helped her husband Bob in the small grocery store they opened in downtown Hobart.
