Anthony (Tony) Joseph Maxberry, 41, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born on October 24, 1982 in Hammond, Indiana to Mark and Catherine (Conley) Maxberry.

Anthony is survived by his mother Catherine, his three siblings: Nicholas Maxberry, Marissa Maxberry (Tim Monik), and his youngest sister Kimberly Fech. He is also survived by his four remarkable children, Gage (19), Samara (18), Addison (15) & Lincoln (7) Maxberry. Tony also had 3 nephews that loved him despite all. Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Mark, Nana & Grandpa Conley, & his Grandpa & Grandma Maxberry.

Anthony grew up in Griffith & Highland Indiana, where he also attended high school for a short time. Tony didn’t have many hobbies besides driving his sister Kimberly insane on a regular basis. Tony did have a desire to attend schooling to become an addiction counselor so he could eventually tell his story of overcoming addiction and help others overcome theirs as well. Sadly, addiction won and he will never get to tell that story.

Unfortunately, a lot of Tony’s life was overshadowed by addiction and his daily struggles with his mental health, that stemmed from the loss of his father at a young age and so much more, along the years. A cherished son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend who was loved so deeply by those who mattered. He so badly wanted to overcome this battle and be who we all wanted him to be. Instead, we are left to cherish the good times with him and the positive memories we have prior to these last couple years.

Tony will be cremated and a small memorial service will be held Friday, February 2nd at 3 pm at Faith Mission Church, 5093 Stone Ave, Portage, IN.
