PORTAGE-Audrey Pauline Shropshire, 85, loving Wife, Mother, and Nana, passed away on Friday June 2nd, 2023 in Symphony Nursing Home, Hospice Care in Crown Point, Indiana with her Son, Daughter in law, and a few friends by her side.
“Polly” was born in Jackson County, Alabama on August 20th, 1937 to Eleber Arie (Boots) and Vella Pauline (Evans) Potter.
Polly was preceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles in 2016. She is survived by her Son, Charles R. (Evelyn) Shropshire, Jr. of Portage, Indiana; daughter Patti Alden (Mike) McKeough of Granger, Indiana, 3 Granddaughters, Brittany (Zack) Zimny of Kouts, Indiana, Chelsea (Casey) Goodan of Valparaiso, Indiana, Hayley (Coley) Moore of Indianapolis, a step-granddaughter, Brittany (Ivan) Arellano of Tempe, Arizona, 2 step-grandsons, Brent Lipkovitch of Hobart, Indiana and Brandon Lipkovitch of Portage, Indiana, as well as 5 great-grandchildren. Polly is also survived by 2 half sisters, Katrina Patty of Tupelo, Mississippi, Pam (Donald) McGaha of Scottsboro, Alabama.
Polly was a devoted housewife, who loved to decorate her home, and work in her yard tending to her many flower beds. She attended Community Bible Church in Cedar Lake, and then Lake Hills Baptist Church in Schererville, for many years.
As per her final wishes, Polly asked to not have a public viewing or ceremony and wished to be cremated.
