Berta Crymes, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on August 28, 2019.

She is survived by her Daughter, Veronica (Dejuan) Eskew, Grandchildren, Johanna, Jasmine, and Jocelyn, Sister, Hildegard Coloma, Ex-Husband; Lee Crymes, and Stepson, Devin Crymes.

Berta was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Magdalena (Brielmaier) Betz, and 6 siblings.

Berta was a member of the former St. John Cantius Church in East Chicago. She worked at A & P, and Advantage Sales and Marketing as a Sales Merchandiser for the entirety of her career. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, and taking great care of her grandkids, as well as spending quality time with her closest friends. She enjoyed tapping into her German roots by attending Octoberfest in Indianapolis with her Sister and Brother in law. Berta could best be described as a hard worker, and a simple woman, one with the biggest heart. She would have done anything she possibly could,  for anyone in their time of need.

Keeping in line with her simplistic personality, and per Berta’s wishes, there will be no service conducted in her honor.

Instead, if you so choose to find it in your heart, donations may be made to any Alzheimers organization of your choice.
