Catherine “Kay” Irene Horn (Eckert) passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2026 surrounded by her children and daughter-in-law.
Kay was born in Constantine, MI on 11/03/1940 to Norrida Catton and Lawrence Eckert.
She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Toby Horn, and her mother, father, and sister.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Schellie (Dave) Martin of White Pigeon, MI; and her son Charles (Trena) Horn of Chesterton, IN; step-children Marti Slade and Steve Horn who both reside in FL. In addition, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
Kay spent her life as a teacher’s assistant for White Pigeon Public Schools in Michigan and retired in 2005 after serving the community’s children for many years. She loved cooking and baking for others. She enjoyed spending time in the sun and warm weather. In addition, she found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made in her honor to Dunes Hospice.
In respect for Kay’s wishes, there will be no memorial services.
Crown Cremation Services is entrusted with her arrangements.
