Charles Raymond Burkhart III, 76, a resident of Starke County, Indiana passed away on August 28, 2022 at home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 12, 1946 to Charles R. Burkhart II and Elizabeth Dosch Burkhart.
Charles retired from Jeffy of Levy in 2004 and was part of the Local 150 Union, in which he worked for 18 years. Before those occupations, he was a owner/operator truck driver for 12 years. He also worked for Chicago Bridge & Iron for 8 years.
Charles married Patricia Faye Patterson on October 3, 1973. After many years of marriage, however, they divorced in 1998. They still remained in loving contact until Charles’ passing.
Charles is also survived by his children; Robin J. Prater (Morgan) of Knox, IN and Robert A. Burkhart of Monroe, LA., Grandchildren; Christopher R. Bradley (Dayna) of Winamac, IN, Natasha L. Bradley of Knox, IN and Ronald L. Patrick (Samantha) of Knox, IN, 15 Great Grandchildren, Siblings; Elizabeth (Todd) Miller of Clinton, MI, Kathy Dosch of Boulder, NV, Sandra Dosch of Boulder, NV, Joseph Burkhart of North Fort Meyers, FL, Eric (Mary) Burkhart of Battle Creek, MI, and Sharlene (John) Burkhart, Nieces; twins Marissa and Maria Burkhart who held a special place in his heart, and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles is preceded in death by his Father; Charles Burkhart II, Mother; Elizabeth Dosch Burkhart, Brothers; Phillip Burkhart and John Burkhart and Great Grandson; Nathaniel James.
Charles cherished his family, above all.
A Celebration of Life Service, followed by a balloon release and luncheon will be held at English Lake Church: 2750 S 650 W, North Judson, IN 46366, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 am.
