Claude Marvin Abbott, 60, of Merrillville, died on October 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 14, 1963, in Dayton, OH, to Larry Abbott, Sr and the late Darlene Black, and sister, Brenda Banks.
On August 22, 2008, in Rensselaer he married the love of his life, Shari Simko. They had been married for 15 years.
Claude worked at Paul Heuring Ford as a Sales Associate, in Hobart, IN. He loved to go on vacation to TN with his wife and 3 dogs, April, Amber, and Aiden. He was a hard worker and always put his family first.
Claude is survived by his stepson, Matthew Stamper, and wife Sarah, of Schererville, IN and stepdaughter Keli Heller, and husband Nathan Heller of Lowell, IN, step grandchildren, Oliver and Dean Stamper, and McKenna Edmaiston, Jaxon and Aubrey Heller, sister, Lana Fox and husband Jerry of St Louis, MO, and Larry Abbott and wife Sarah of NC. Claude’s Aunt Cindy Hagen of IN, Sonny Abbott, of IN, and Donald Abbott of IN, Mother-in-law Phyllis Simko, Portage, IN, in laws Debbie and Kevin King, Bellefonte, PA, Joni and Jim Oliver, Portage, IN, Rick and Wendy Simko, Georgetown, TN, Donna and Tom Spears, Hobart, IN and Tim and Angie Simko of Portage, IN along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
