Don DeArmond Jr, age 72, peacefully made his journey home to the Lord on August 16, 2023 after a long battle with heart disease. Born to Millie (Smith) and Don DeArmond on February 5, 1951, he was raised in Hammond, IN with his beloved siblings Linda (Larry) Ray and Jeff (Gayla) DeArmond. Linda was a rock for Don throughout his battle with heart disease and he loved her dearly.
Don was currently residing in Hebron, IN with is only child, Nicole Vadas, son-in-law Adam Vadas, and 3 grandchildren, Diane Daniel, and Lucas and Avery Vadas, who were his pride and joy.
Don longed to be reunited with his wife, Diane (Klobuchar) DeArmond, who passed away on Aug 10, 1991. He is also preceded in death by his parents, brother Jeff, and many other family members and close friends. On his final day, he expressed excitement to see them all in Heaven.
Don will be missed by his many other surviving family members, including his niece and nephews, Julie (Craig) Swantko, Richard Ray (Mindy), and Jeff (Kate) DeArmond and 7 great nieces/nephews and many cousins. He shared a special bond with his cousin, Chuck Sayger, who was there for Don until his dying day.
He was adored by many for his charming and humorous personality and infectious laugh. If you knew Don, you quickly became a friend. He always thrived to make others laugh and you were always smiling in his presence. He enjoyed spending hours a day chatting on the phone with many friends.
Don was a gifted musician who loved playing soulful music for his church family at Woodmar Baptist Church in Hammond, IN. He expressed himself through music with his beautiful voice and piano/guitar playing.
A private service is being held to honor the life of Don.
