Donald Thompson, 53, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

He is survived by his loving Mother, Bonnie (Wallace) Corson and Stepfather, David Corson, His father, Raleigh Thompson, is deceased. Sisters; Beverly (Donald) Peirick, (children: Caleb & Aiden); Lou Ann (Heath) Keeling (children: Zachary, Taylor, Kaitlyn & Kendall); Stepsisters; Heather (Alex) Floutsis (children: Taki, Micho & Lexie); Heidi (Jason) Corson (son:Gabe); Half-Brothers; Raleigh (Jill) Thompson (children: Nick, Santi & Khar); Robert Thompson (son: James). Also survived by his loyal dog, Bo.

Don was also very close to his Uncle John (Aunt Kem) Thompson, Aunt Diane Cullison and her daughters: Cassie (Dean) and Cori (Brian), Aunt Cheryl (Uncle Ed) Steward and their son: Eric (Laura) Johnson, as well as Aunt Roseann (David – deceased) Wallace and their children: Jessica (Tim) Skiver, David Jr (Alexis) Wallace, and Chrishna.

 

Don loved the Lord, and just recently became a member of Valparaiso Nazarene Church. He had a love for music and was the founder/facilitator of 219 Deadheads. He was a talented artist and guitar player. Don was a wonderful Uncle to the many nieces and nephews he was blessed with. He loved his family dearly.

In the final weeks of Don’s life, he was granted a wish through Dunes Hospice’s ‘Dunes Dreams’ program. He was so graciously taken to Indianapolis to see one of Jerry Garcia’s infamous guitars along with other world-famous music memorabilia. This was a priceless moment for Don that his family will treasure forever.

A Memorial Service in Don’s honor will be held Saturday, March 23rd at Valparaiso Nazarene Church, 2702 E. Glendale Blvd, Valparaiso, IN, 46383.

Doors open at 12 noon to greet the family. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 24th from 1:00 pm – 9:00 p.m, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 805 Elm Street, Valparaiso, IN, 46383.

Food will be provided by Gelsosomo’s of Crown Point. Live music by Dead To Rights, Stealin The Farm, Chester Brown and more.
