Fred Everett Burnes, age 74, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away on January 8, 2022.
He is survived by his children: Todd (Brandy) Burnes, Tonya (Terry) Hauptli, Fred (April) Burnes, Shannon (Mike) Robey, grandchildren: Tucker Ellis, Tyler Hauptli, Leah and Lila Burnes, Mikey, Caitey, Donna and Robert Robey, and siblings: Robin (Mike) Tessereau, Donata Burnes (Peter Erdmann) and Paul Burnes, along with many lifelong friends and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank Delos Burnes and Violet K Burnes.
Fred, born on November 22, 1947, worked on transmissions since a young age and was well-known in the drag racing world. He retired from St. Anthony’s Hospital in Crown Point, where he truly enjoyed his job and treasured his connections with his coworkers. He loved to ride his Harley and took many trips to Sturgis, South Dakota. He adored his grandchildren. Fred lived his life to the fullest and made friends everywhere he went. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
