George Edens, 74, of Jasper, Virginia passed away on Wednesday August 19, 2020.
He is survived by his children: Samantha (Crystal) Russell, Christopher Russell, Teresa Edens, Shirley Edens, Richard Edens, and George Edens Jr., step-children: Victoria Bowen, Victor Bowen, Jack Cole, Glen Bowen and Billy Bowen, grandchildren: Alex Bowen, Brett Coomer, Kristin Crabtree, Daniel Coomer, Ruby Bowen, Autumn Bowen, Jessie Bowen, Justin Cole, Katie Brooke Cole, Caleb Cole and Zack Cole.
Preceded in death by his parents: William and Martha Edens, brothers: Brad Edens, Rufus Edens, Woodrow Edens, Richard Edens, Will Edens and sisters: Bonnie Edens and Irene Edens.
George will be remembered for being a good ‘ol country boy from Virginia. He often rode his riding lawn mower to church, around town or visiting people. He loved western movies, John Wayne in particular. Often referring to himself as a “mountain man”, he could spend all day outdoors, whether going for walks or simply sitting outside and enjoying the scenery. He had many stories of his days cutting trees, and was a funny jokester with friends and family. George will be greatly missed by those close to him.
