Jacquetta Lynn Finnegan née Johnson,
age 60, of Portage, Indiana passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, May 15th,2021.
Jacquetta was born to Donald and the late Betty Johnson on March 21,1961 in Hammond, Indiana. She grew up in Crown Point, and was a graduate of Crown Point High School. She later received her Associates degree at The College of Court Reporting.
She met her husband, Scott on July 23rd,1982 and the two married on July 23rd, 1985. They lived in Portage throughout their marriage. They had one daughter, Natalie, whom Jacquetta loved fiercely. She is also survived by her father; Donald Johnson, sisters; Beverly (Dave) Springsteen of Chesterton, Indiana and Michelle (Michael) Keith of Franklin, Tennessee as well as parents-in-law; James and Marge Finnegan of Ogden Dunes and brother-in-law; Kevin Finnegan of Chesterton,Indiana, along with many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother; Betty, and nephew; Michael Bradach.
Jacquetta enjoyed spending a majority of her time gardening; her vast knowledge of flowers and plants as well as her effortless green thumb were something to be envious of. She also enjoyed spending most of her days with her family and her beloved golden doodles, Finleigh and Stella.
The family is honoring Jacquetta’s wishes by hosting a “Celebration of Life” at a date to be determined. The family will keep loved ones updated on the event.
