Portage resident, Jason E. Chancey passed away peacefully in the care of Saint Mary’s Medical Hospital on Sunday, January 17, 2021.
Jason was born on November 16, 1969 in Ohio to Colleen (Don) Smith and Sam Chancey. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sarah Marie Chancey.
Surviving are his most prized possessions in life, his children: Sabrina Ross, Melynda Chancey, Marina (Darrian) Williams, Sara Chancey, Steven Chancey and Jakob Chancey. Along with Four beautiful grandchildren and one on the way, two sisters, nieces and nephews.
Jason was a hard-working, humble, humorous, God-loving man and a friend to all. Many of his hobbies included; fishing, camping, cookouts, family time, and loving life in general with his girlfriend Erin Lee.
The family has entrusted Crown Cremation Services of Crown Point, Indiana to handle final arrangements. At this time, no service will be held, but a memorial and celebration of Jason’s life is to be scheduled at a later date.
