Jeanette Lorraine Shaughnessy, 80, of Portage, Indiana, died April 16, 2020.
She was born on February 1, 1940, to Jasper & Evelyn Fraze in Wyandotte, Michigan.
She was married to Richard Shaughnessy on May 21, 1982 until his passing on January 27, 2015.
Jan is survived by her brother Larry (Beverly) Fraze, many cousins and 13 children from hers and Richards blended family. Kim (Mike) Bolton Vanhof, Terry (Maria) Bolton, Kathy (Kevin) Rockwell, Keith Forton, Sherry (Bill) Monday, Roberta Bridge, Danny (Karen) Shaughnessy, Becky (Billy) Wilkie, KC Shaughnessy, Stefanie (Jeff) Younglove, Jeni (Robert) Bolton, Christopher Bolton, Evan Shaughnessy and 48 grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, sister Sandy Frazy and her husband.
She worked as an after school daycare aid at Salem Lutheran Elementary in Jacksonville, Illinois for several years until moving to Portage, Indiana in 2017.
Jan’s joy came from helping others, the kids at Salem Lutheran and her children. And if you knew Jan, she loved to talk.
Jan accepted Christ in the 1970’s and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, IL until she moved to Indiana. She has been a part of Life Bridge Christian Church (Valparaiso, IN) for 2 years with some of her children. She thought of Life Bridge as her second family and they loved her.
She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her and knew her. She will always be remembered for her ability to bring joy & laughter to those around her.
