Luis R. Cadena passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on February 07, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife; Maria A. Cadena, parents; Hesiquio and Leocadia, his sisters; Amalia, Hortencia, Evangelina, Isabel, Aurora and brother; Lazaro. He survived by his brother; Hereneo (Neo), sisters; Benilde, Lucia, daughter; Irma Diaz (Benito Diaz jr.) and son; Hector Cadena; Three Grandchildren; Lorena M. Diaz, Benito Diaz III, Sonia L. Diaz; Great Grandchildren; Kathryn I. Diaz, Benito Diaz IV, Rafael E. Cruz, Lillian G. Cruz, Daniel A. Rosado and Gabriel S. Rosado and many nephews and nieces.
Born and raised in Palito Blanco, TX. He attended Ben Bolt H.S. He served in the military between January 1944 – May 1946, where he was stationed in Germany as a Utility Repairman, Demolition Specialist and Carpenter.
Luis relocated to NWI after the war to work in the construction trade before ending up at the former Inland Steel. Then he returned to Texas briefly during the Strike of ’52 to marry his long-time sweetheart, Maria.
Luis will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
