Lyn A. Worley, 68, of Lake Station, IN, formerly of Elyria, OH passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Nancy Worley, sister; Dawn Day and infant son; Dustin Worley.
He is survived by his longtime companion of 28 years; Kathy Barreiro, 3 children; Danielle Worley, Patrick Worley and Michael Worley, 2 stepchildren; Kimberly Metz and Jamie Metz, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and his fur babies; Macho Man, Itty Bitty, Little One and Cici.
Lyn was liked by everyone and was always there to help anyone in their time of need. He was a hard worker, enriched by the genuine camaraderie among him and his fellow truck drivers. He was a driver for many companies over the years, even earning awards for his safe driving. He was grateful for the many great friendships that were formed over the most recent 10 years of his career, driving for FedEx. In his spare time, Lyn was known to be an avid gardener and ice fisherman. He loved his Chevy S-10. He often felt the need to be outdoors, even something as simple as throwing some good food on the grill, or sitting in his garage enjoying a nice cold beer. Lyn enjoyed a broad range of entertainment, ranging from Nascar (known in his day to root for Jeff Gordon #24), sports and even a good old Western every now and then. He expressed the utmost respect for veterans, first responders, police and firefighters and took pride in the American flag.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
