Margaret “Mickey” Allison was born on 02/25/1946 in Stanley, North Dakota.
When Mickey was an infant, the family moved to Philadelphia, PA. When Mickey was 18, the family relocated to Chicago.
She graduated from Calumet High School, then in 1968 from Lake Forest College. After college, she lived in Boston and began a career of caring for others. Later, Mickey moved back to Chicago where her work shifted to helping those with chemical dependency. It was in this line of work, she was most proud of the miracles of hope and recovery.
In her next phase of life, she became an artist in St. Paul, MN. She used her skills to make faces out of clay and paper mache as well as using recycled fabrics, fur, beads, feathers and wood to create angels, puppets and other tokens of hope.
Mickey’s last move was to Cedar Lake, IN where she performed miracles of beauty, grace and love in the act of caring for her beloved parents.
She is survived by her sister; Mary Jean Thomson, brother; Monroe Allison and nieces; Jessica Allison, Allison Johnson and nephews; Brian Thomson and Paul Allison.
