Matthew Robert Rynearson

Gracious husband, son, father and brother.
Born March 28th 1986 -December 25th 2020

Matthew attended New Prairie High School in New Carlisle Indiana and Lakeshore High school in Saint Joseph Michigan, where he graduated.

He was a hardworking young man. Matthew was a very quick study. Several of these jobs, fostered his hunger to learn. At his final employment, he held the job as Project Manager for Servpro.

Matthew was very creative. He loved watercolor, multimedia drawing and woodworking. He was also musically gifted. There wasn’t any instrument he could not pick up and play. His favorite was guitar both acoustic and electric. Matthews gift, was shared by his teaching others to play. Matthew formed a band with his two best friends in high school. The band was called Strength through Defiance. (aka STD).
This band name shows his sense of humor. He had a distinguishable laughter. When people think of him, they will recall some prank or antic that he played and they’ll smile, while shaking their heads.

Matthew always imparted words, that were at times, insightful for that instance or would bring laughter to a moment of seriousness.
It seems that nature often called Matt to explore the beauty of the outdoors. He especially loved the beach and the woods. This led to camping with his family.
Matthews other interests also included astronomy, apocalyptic zombie books and movies.
His five girls were his greatest gift. He love the girls with a fierce passion. They were his world. It was such a heart break when his 6th daughter Henley Rose, passed away 24 hours after her birth.

In early 2020, at age 34, Matt became very fatigued and complained of back pain. Matthew was too stubborn for his own good. It wasn’t until September 2020 and he finally went into the ER with severe pain and it was then that he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine cancer, stage 4. A silent, fast metastasizing incurable cancer.

By November, the doctors had no treatment and there was no cure. Before he left the hospital one of his last requests was granted, he married the love of his life Kelsey Cunningham. They had a bedside wedding provided creatively put together by the hospital staff. A week later he was sent home on hospice.
Matts body was frail and tired, his spirit was grateful to be able to draw another determine breath joyful for every second, he was Grace to be on earth. He lived on his terms.
Though the doctors only had given him 2 to 3 days to live on hospice, he bravely fought for three weeks in pain. Matthew drew his final breath on Christmas Day, surrounded by family and friends.

We love you more, Matthew!
