With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald ‘Ron’ Thornell on April 27, 2025. Ron was a cherished figure, born on March 6, 1954, and his spirited personality and enriching presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Ron was a devoted family man, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his wife, Gaye, to whom he was a pillar of strength and unconditional love. His daughters Kiya Adkins (Mark), Kristen Jacobs (Eddie), Tracy Vasquez (Ken) and Danielle Scott (Keith) who will forever remember their father’s unwavering support and love.

As a proud grandfather, he is survived by his grandsons Jackson Jacobs, Brandon Scott, Justin Scott, and Matthew Scott, and his granddaughters Rosalee Jacobs and Alicia Strevel and great-grandchildren. Their ‘Grandpa Ron’ was a source of endless joy, wisdom, and love. He will also be forever remembered by his brother, Gary Thornell (Linda), and his sister, Pam Brooking (Ray).

Predeceased by his mother, Fayetta Thornell, father, Floyd Thornell, and Sister, Rebecca Bennett, we are consoled that Ron is now reunited with them in eternal rest.

Ron was a lover of life and the great outdoors. His favorite recreational activities included fishing and golfing, and he found great joy in supporting the Indianapolis Colts. Ron’s spirited, funny, and fiery personality contrasted beautifully with his heart’s inherent warmth and generosity, making him a unique and beloved individual.

Ron’s life was characterized by his love for his family and his zest for living. His devotion to his loved ones was evident in the pride he took in being a loving spouse, a guide to his daughters, and a doting grandpa. His spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
