Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 22, 1948 and resided near family in Lowell, Indiana.

Bill, also known as “Woody”, was a free spirit and talented musician. He served as a lead singer and bassist in 10 different bands over his lifetime. He was unconventional and did things outside of the norm, against society’s pressure and expectations. Bill was passionate about human rights and was part of protests throughout the Vietnam era. He stood up to the mistreatment of others, never afraid to fight for what he felt was right. Bill held the belief that he could achieve anything he wanted to do with his drive and positivity, which led him to run several successful businesses. He had a wide range of skills from carpentry, real estate, fixing computers and painting. He would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone, and was a caring support to others in their time of need. Bill always had an answer to any question asked and was full of facts regarding any range of topics. His favorite hobby was reading and he would spend hours reading each day. The selflessness displayed by the love he poured into others, changed many lives as he often performed random acts of kindness. His charismatic attitude and lighthearted wittiness gained him unexpected special treatment in return, so much the “Woody treatment” became a term often used to describe his interactions.

Above all, William had tremendous love for his bride and soul mate, Carol. Their true love shined so bright and was looked up to from the younger generations. They didn’t need much, their love expressed in simple gestures, a cup of coffee in the morning and a kiss goodnight. He was an amazing Father, Brother, Uncle, In-law and Papa.

Although Bill’s kind and free spirit will forever be loved and missed, his legacy will forever live on in the generations he left behind.

A Life Honoring Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Beecher Amvets Post #67, 532 Gould St., Beecher, IL 60401.
