He was also “Uncle Buck” (U.B.) to many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his dad; Robert, nephew; Jack Daniels and father-in-law; John Sigurdson.

Bucky was retired from the Hammond Police Department. He was loved by Police and Firefighters alike, for the GREAT Police/Fireman shoots he held at Oakwood gun club, where all proceeds went to a scholarship fund for a local Hammond Firefighter’s daughter. Bucky was avid in hunting and fishing and chased waterfowl from Canada to Arkansas. He shot trap with the best of them and won many tournaments and outings.

There wasn’t possibly a more generous person that has walked this earth, than Bucky; if someone had a need, he found a way to meet it. He will be sorely missed by not only his family and friends, but by anyone who ever met him. He had many names and wore many hats: “Big Boy”, “Bucky”, “Brother”, “Dad”, “Son” and “Pappy”, to name a few. Bucky always wore a smile and knew there wasn’t a situation he could not overcome. We could go on like this for days, and we will in another venue.

The family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life in Bucky’s honor, on August 31st, 2024 at the Lowell VFW Post 6841;  17401 Morse St., Lowell, IN,  from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
