Jason E. Chancey (November 16, 1969 – January 17, 2021)

Portage resident, Jason E. Chancey passed away peacefully in the care of Saint Mary's Medical Hospital on Sunday, January 17, 2021.  Jason was born on November 16, 1969 in Ohio to Colleen (Don) Smith and Sam Chancey. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sarah Marie Chancey.  Surviving are his most prized possessions in life, his children: Sabrina Ross, Melynda Chancey, Marina (Darrian) Williams, Sara Chancey, Steven Chancey and Jakob Chancey. Garry Campaniello (November 2, 1945 – January 16, 2021)

Garry “Wolfman” “Tiny” Campaniello passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 16th, 2021. He was born in Massachusetts on November 2nd, 1945 to Marie and Carmen Campaniello, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 21, 1969 Garry married the love of his life, Gloria Campaniello who passed away on January 20, 1998. Garry remarried later in life to Charlotte Shultz on September 13, 2002, who passed away on August 13, 2016. He is survived by his loving children, John (LeeAnn) Campaniello of Valparaiso and Mike (Jessie) Campaniello of Porter.

Gerald Burns (May 25, 1956 – January 14, 2021)

In memory of Gerald D. Burns: Born May 25, 1956 and went home on January 14, 2021 to be with his heavenly father. He was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He considered himself a Tracker; he knew every word to every Star Trek episode, and he could quote the Bible word for word.  The world will be a sadder place without his smile and laughter. He is loved and will be missed by many. Per his wishes, his ashes have been spread over Guntersville Lake, Alabama.

Joan Palmer (April 11, 1944 – January 12, 2021)

  Joan Laverne Palmer, age 76, passed suddenly on January 12, 2021 while surrounded by family.  She was born in Halls, Tennessee, and she lived in Hobart, Indiana for 55 years.   Joan loved people, especially children.  She drove a school bus for Hobart Township for over 30 years. Her favorite route was her special needs children from Hobart, Lake Station, and Crown Point.  Her students were very important to her and she was loved by all.  She also was a long-time recess aide at Meister Elementary.   She was known for

Penny "GG"( Schroeder)  Carter passed away on January 11,2021, surrounded by her somewhat dysfunctional family. Penny was born on November 9, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana. She was the fourth of nine children. In 1966, while working as a secretary at the Indiana State Prison, she met her future husband. Don't worry, he was a guard, not a prisoner.
