Serena Chenault (September 6, 1947 – May 31, 2024)
Serena 'Katie Bug' Chenault, 76, of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024. Survived by her children Charles (Becky) Chenault; Charlene Chenault and Tina (Wayne) Weaver, grandchildren, Britany; Darlene; Charles; Mitchell; Tiffany; Stephanie; Nikki and Timmy, great grandson, Brendan, and siblings, Lisa Lehmann and Lydia (Jeff Geary) Brock. Preceded in death by her mother, Alice Brock. Serena will always be remembered as kind and loving towards children. She would have given the shirt off of her back to anyone in need, and genuinely had a good heart.
James Brown (July 29, 1940 – May 28, 2024)
James Brown, 83, passed away Tuesday 5/28/2024. He is survived by his loving wife, his son & daughter-in-law, son-in-law, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter, parents, three sisters and one brother. James was a graduate of East Gary Edison and retired from US Steel. He greatly enjoyed being with family. He was a retired machinist, inventor and former co-owner of a 'Chicken Unlimited' restaurant. Please contact the family directly for details regarding the private funeral service to be held.
Mary Key (June 18, 1931 – May 25, 2024)
Mary Key, 92, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully at her son's home on Saturday, May 25, 2024. One of nine children, Mary grew up in Mount Harris, Colorado. She later married and had three sons. Preceded in death by her husband, two sons, and her siblings. Mary will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend. She will be missed by those who loved her.
