Obituary

Mark McCarty of Gary, Indiana, passed on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He is survived by his children; Angel (Trent) McCarty, Anthony McCarty, Grandchildren; Liam, Braxton, Kayn and Ala'yah, Mother; Debbie Stage, Brother; Clifford (Jennifer) McCarty, Nephews; Zack, Eric, David, Kaison, Noah, DaMarkus and a Niece; Morgan (Eddie). Preceded in death by his Father; Brian McCarty and his Brother; Mickey McCarty. Mark's favorite hobby was spending quality time with his Grandchildren and Nephews.  

Taima Renee LaFountain, born July 24th, 1991 in Augsburg, Germany, passed away suddenly on the morning of March 28th, 2023, in Hobart, Indiana. She was 31 years old. Taima moved to the United States when she was only one year old and attended St. Adalbert's Catholic School in South Milwaukee, WI until 2001. In 2001 she moved with her family to Necedah, WI where she attended Necedah Elementary, Middle, and High School. She graduated from Necedah High School in 2009 as Co-Valedictorian of her class. Phyllis Garber (nee Matula), age 79, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023 at St Anthony, Majestic Care in Crown Point, IN. Originally from Chicago, she was longtime resident of Munster, IN.  She had a rewarding career in the retail industry as infant and children’s buyer for Goldblatt Brothers Department Store and Crawford Department Store, where she met and married her ex-husband, the late Alan Garber. Her knowledge of the retail industry brought her the opportunity to teach classes at Ray Vogue/Ray College of Design in the mid-1980’s.  Although Phyllis
