Glenn Brandon Cage was born on May 19, 1950 in Gary, IN to Willie Cage and Jean Cage, and was lifelong resident in the midtown area of Gary. He passed away October 23, 2020, in Merrillville, IN at Golden Living. Glenn graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School, proud Panther class of 1968. Glenn continued his education at Valporaiso University and obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in political science. While pursuing his degree at Valpo he participated in baseball and upon graduating played for a brief period for a minor league baseball team.
Glenn devoted his life to his family especially his only daughter Nicole. Glenn and Nicole had an unbreakable bond and their father/daughter relationship was amazing. Glenn was very strict about Nicole’s education and ensured she stay focused and achieved her highest potential.
Glenn loved sports, food and to play tennis. He could debate about football, basketball and baseball down to the stats, and his recall was very accurate. He was a very good cook and prepared many scrumptious dishes for himself and Nicole. Their favorite was steak and baked potatoes with tons of butter and sour cream. Many days you could find Glenn on the tennis court behind Roosevelt practicing his serve, hitting the ball against the wall if he could not find a partner. Many days he would drag Nicole to the tennis court to teach her to play and over the years she improved and became his permanent partner.
Glenn leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter Nicole Rodgers (Curtis); granddaughter Adore Rodgers, brothers Mark Cage, Armonde Cage, and Guy Cage. Glenn was preceded in death by his loving parents Willie Cage and Jean Cage.
